State of Osun of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba
State of Osun is often referred to as the “land of the gentle people,” embodying the overall Omoluabi character that defines the Yoruba people. Its chief city, Ile-Ife, is a symbol of unity for all Yorubas, as it holds a central place in their ancestral history.
Ile-Ife is home to many tourist attractions, ranging from traditional and cultural sites to educational landmarks. Notably, Obafemi Awolowo University, located in Ile-Ife, is considered one of the most beautiful and prestigious campuses in Africa.
Osun is bordered to the north by the state of Old Oyo Empire, to the east by State of Ekiti, to the southeast by State of Ondo, to the south by State of Ogun, and to the west by State of Ibadan. This means Osun shares borders with five other states in Yorubaland (D.R.Y)
