Signed Petition
Our journey to freedom begun with a signed petition of well over 5 million unique signatures of Indigenous People of Yoruba who were genuinely clamoring for an end to slavery and a complete exit from the union called Nigeria. These signatures were our starting point! These signatures represented referendum! Petition started on the 8th of March, 2022 and completed on the 27th of May, 2022. Official Declaration to the World
On this day, which will forever ring in our minds, was the physical manifestation of Nov. 5 spiritual declaration. This day we declared ourself to the world as an INDEPENDENT NATION. We declared ourselves out of the evil contraction called Nigeria.

Reclamation & Notification
This day marked the process of reclaiming everything that belongs to us, which were no longer in our possession. It was the restoration process. A letter went out to the world, especially the Nigerian governors to vacate the seat of power as the ỌMỌ-ALÁDÉ planned to take charge of their heritage, land, water bodies, e.t.c.

Occupation
This day represent the time to begin occupying what belong to us. In good faith, peace and unity, we matched out onto each state’s secretariat. Although we couldn’t get hold of the seat of power on this date, the purpose was fulfilled.

Proclamation & Swear-In
On this day, a glorious day, which mark the last important steps to take, Our excellent, beloved mother, Chief Mrs. Modupeola Onitiri-Abiola, sent by God Almighty to lead the entire Indigenous Yoruba People (IYP) out of slavery, subjugation, domination & control, thereby on this day 12th April 2024, PROCLAIM the Independent Sovereignty of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba in the name of Olódùmarè our father. And on this day till the end of time, We the Yoruba people begin our sovereignty power through a democratic government with the declaration of Ọgbeni Mobọlaji Ọlawale Akinọla Ọmọkore as the Head of Provisional Government of the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE YORUBA. Jubilation
At the begin, we mentioned that the journey was made simple by Olódùmarè Himself. Therefore, its time to give praise to Him Alone. This is what the JUBILATION stands for. Our journey to freedom was sealed on the 12th April 2024. IYP, gather your Àgbàdá, Ìrùkẹ̀rẹ̀, Ilú ati Ṣẹkẹrẹ, Akun, Ilẹkẹ, ati Fìlà, and let us praise Olódùmarè and also pay respect to our ancestors, our heroes.
